Waimea Plantation Cottages Recognized in “Outside Magazine”

We were pleased to see Waimea Plantation Cottages featured in Outside Magazine, which highlights Kauaʻi as a place for travelers seeking both adventure and renewal. The article celebrates our island’s slower pace and natural beauty. It describes the property as a peaceful home base for exploring nearby landmarks and enjoying the timeless character that makes this part of Kauaʻi so special. It was wonderful to see the cottages and our West Side community recognized in a national publication. Of course, the guests we love welcoming most are our neighbors here at home. Be sure to take advantage of our kamaʻaina discounts on your next visit.

These proud seniors and their ohana enjoyed an evening of laughter and shared memories as they approach graduation this Spring. It was a privilege to welcome this special event on our property and witness such a warm, spirited celebration for the seniors. Congratulations to these students and their families on their upcoming graduation!

Kikiaola Land Company is proud to support our West Kauai community, including the Friends of Waimea Public Library. This dedicated volunteer group raises funds throughout the year to help the library cover honoraria, supplies, and refreshments for events, programs, and community outreach. All donations collected by the Friends directly support and enhance the programs and services of the Waimea Public Library, which recently celebrated its 75th anniversary. We encourage everyone to stop by the library, explore its offerings, and take part in their programs that bring our community together.

49th Annual Waimea Town Celebration

In February, our property at the Waimea Old Sugar Mill was the site of the 49th Annual Waimea Town Celebration, Kauai’s largest and longest-running festival. Our West Side community spent eight days together celebrating local culture through concerts, food, competitions, and cultural events. The event offers a chance to step back in time to old Hawaii, where the town cares for its people and everyone contributes to the fun.

Faye Family Feature - Marissa Faye

Marissa and mom Colleen Faye

Marissa Faye carries on a family tradition at Wrangler’s Steakhouse and The Saddle Room, a local favorite in Waimea. Known for its hearty fare and welcoming spirit, Wrangler’s has long been a gathering place for paniolo and local families. When Marissa took over from her parents, she brought new energy to the restaurant without losing its roots by introducing local-sourced specials, live music nights, and a commitment to supporting local farmers and fishermen.

For Marissa, Wrangler’s isn’t just a business—it’s a way of caring for community. She knows her regulars by name, supports local fundraisers, and keeps the doors open late for celebrations after football games and rodeos. “This is home,” she says, “and food is how we show aloha.” Under her leadership, Wrangler’s continues to serve as a place where the west side gathers to talk story, share a meal, and feel connected to Kauai’s enduring spirit.

Kikiaola Land Company is a longtime family business based in Waimea, Kauai. Kikiaola translated from Hawaiian means the “sprouting springs of Ola” and is the name of an irrigation ditch located in Waimea Valley. Just as the ditch’s stonework stands resilient and harmonious, Kikiaola Land Company builds relationships within our local community that are enduring and contribute to the well-being of our island home. Founded by Hans Peter Faye, a Norwegian who emigrated to Kauai in the 1880s to grow and process sugar cane, today the company has various local businesses, including Waimea Plantation Cottages and a weekly farmers market, and is owned by 150 members of the Faye ohana.
